With over 30 state licenses available to genetic counselors, tracking how and when copies of these licenses are sent to you can get overwhelming, especially if your copy is lost. Luckily, we've pulled all of that information together for all licensed states and identified which mode(s) are used to deliver a copy of a license.
The majority of states have a function on their portals where someone can download a copy of a license; however, most downloadable licenses do not update immediately after renewal. Wait 24-48 hours to download an updated copy of your license.
For the licenses that have a mailing feature, those are mailed upon a license being issued or renewed. If a copy of a license has been lost or misplaced and there is no function to download the license, you will need to contact the state board to request another copy or request it through their portal.
