Overview: As of November 1st, CE Broker will now be mandatory to renew your New Hampshire licensure. New Hampshire is joining the likes of Florida and Louisiana to make this a renewal requirement.
What does that mean for you? It means that you will need to upload your CEU certificates to CE Broker to qualify for a renewal. Once the certificates are uploaded, then and only then can you renew your New Hampshire license directly through the New Hampshire state portal.
What you'll need:
CE Broker account
25 hours of continuing education along with the certificates
Process:
To set up an account:
Go to the CE Broker website and click “Sign in”. Click “Sign up” to begin the process.
(a) For Location, choose location of the license NOT your physical location. In this case, choose "New Hampshire".
(b) For Profession, choose "Genetic Counselor". Then hit "Continue".
Select Plan - On the next page, select the plan you would like to use. Here at Elsie, we have found that the Basic plan (free) for the CE Broker has the necessary functions to complete a renewal.
Type in your New Hampshire license number. Note, that the format New Hampshire licenses are four digits, so make sure to include all digits even if the first one is a zero.
Set up account. This website allows you to use the email address OR username to sign into the account.
Set up complete! It should then take you to your dashboard.
Already have a CE Broker account? Then no need to set up a new account. Follow these steps to add your New Hampshire license to your account.
(a) Sign into your CE Broker account. Then near the top left, you will see your Louisiana and/or Florida license number listed. This means you are currently on that license's dashboard page. To add New Hampshire, click on the dropdown box and click “Add a New License/Certificate”.
(b) On the next page, input the information for location, profession, and your New Hampshire license number. Click “Add License/Certificate”.
(c) It will then reload the page, but it will still be on the Louisiana or Florida dashboard. To confirm the addition of your New Hampshire license, click on the same dropdown and your New Hampshire license should now be listed. Use this function to switch between the different dashboards.
NOTE: Once added, the website has to verify the license before you can add any documents to that dashboard. It takes a few days for this to occur.
Uploading a CEU course certificate
(a) On your New Hampshire dashboard, click on one of the “Report CE” buttons. You will then be given several options. The vast majority of the time, you will be using one of two options.
"Educational Events Sponsored by the NSGC or ACMG" - Choose this option for events where you attend in person or virtual, but MUST BE LIVE, not a recorded event.
"Sponsored" includes any event sponsored, approved, or hosted by NSGC. Any Category 1 CEU courses will have been approved by NSGC.
"Completion of Distance Learning Courses" - Choose this option for any other Category 1 courses that do not fall into the live event category.
(b) Click "Begin" on the category you want. Input the date you completed the course and the amount of hours (ex. 1.5 CEUs = 15 hours). To input the hours, choose the option "Clinical Application of Genetic Counseling".
(c) In the following pages, put in the name of the course and name of the provider.
(d) Attach course certificate. Then click “Submit CE”.
Once all the CEU certificates have been uploaded correctly, the "Compliance Status" should change from Not Completed (red) to Completed (green). DO NOT move forward with your renewal until this change has occurred.
